MAPAC aims to provide a cultural, family-friendly forum for civic engagement and participation and appreciation of civic leadership, accessible by all residents and members of local organizations interested in Malden affairs. The day to day operation is handled by Great Wall Center, although MAPAC is an independently incorporated entity. Membership is informal and open for interested individuals and organizations to participate. Our mission is similar to that of the Mass Chapter of National Association of Social Workers. Mission
MAPAC is a volunteer, nonpartisan community entity, whose mission is to help advance and preserve the culture of Asian Pacific American living and or working in Malden; to promote human rights, to seek equality and justice in all areas of community life; to help ensure equal access to services. People of various ethnic, cultural and linguistic background have come together around this mission, recognizing that (i) a vibrant and growing community requires the full participation of all its residents and (ii) a community is only as strong as its most vulnerable residents. MAPAC is committed to justice, equality and the inclusion of all people in the community life of Malden.
